Vernon Luddington

Vernon A. Luddington, 63, of 3140 Indianola Road, died Friday at Veterans Hospital of a heart ailment. He had been ill for a year.

Mr. Luddington was a native of Lorimor and had lived in Des Moines for 40 years. He was a graduate of St. Charles high School and retired in 1964 as a chef at the Hotel Kirkwood.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothea; a sister, Mrs. Marvis Gates of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Spurgeon of Monroe; a stepson, Gary Schoeman of Mitchellville; and seven step-grandchildren.

The body is at Dalstrom's Funeral Home.
