Graveside services were held last Friday, August 2 for Albert Lea Young, a former resident of Winterset who died at Riverview Manor in Des Moines last Tuesday, July 26. He was 72 years of age.
Mr. Young was born in Winterset on May 15, 1903, the son of John B. and Frances Newton Young. He spent his early years in Winterset before moving with his parents to New Ulm, Minnesota in 1917.
In later years the family moved to Des Moines, where Mr. Young was employed as a plumber until his retirement.
Mr. Young is survived by one sister-in-law, Katie Frasier of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Graveside services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. last Friday, August 2 at Highland Memorial Gardens in Des Moines, with the Rev. Charles Updike officiating.
