Sunday, March 10, 1991, page 11Catherine Gaither, 83, of Colorado Springs died Thursday at a local nursing home. She was a retired teacher. She had taught in Douglas, Wyo., Casper Wyo., and Heidelberg, Germany.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leroy Clementich officiating.
Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
Mrs. Gaither was born June 6, 1907, in Winterset, Iowa, to Fred and Catherine (McLaughin) Smith. She had lived in Colorado Springs for 11 years. She received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wyoming. She was a Catholic and a member of the Community Chapel at the Air Force Academy.
Mrs. Gaither was married in April 1932 in Gering, Neb., to retired Col. L.E. Gaither, who survives.
She also is survived by a son, James L. of Casper, Wyo.; a daughter, Patricia L. Seward of Fort Washington, Md.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
