Eva Allen, age 94 of Winterset, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Winterset Care Center North.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services, beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Care Center North Activity Fund.
Eva was born March 6, 1916, the daughter of Harlan and Veleta (Miller) Bartlett. She graduated from Macksburg High School in 1935 and later married John W. Allen on June 16, 1947 in Atlantic, Iowa.
She was a member of the Foursquare Church of Winterset.
She is survived by many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 1984; a brother Lloyd; and an infant sister.

Eva cleaned houses most of her working years. She also was a dedicated homemaker and helped on the farm.
She was a member of the Foursquare Church of Winterset.
Eva enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was always seen dressed proper, wearing heels or sandals, her hat and jewelry. She loved eating out and taking photos of friends. She was a very giving person, always giving gifts to others. She especially enjoyed receiving cards from friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a brother, Lloyd; and an infant sister.
She is survived by many friends.
