Margaret Eliza Reed was born in Franklin county, Pennsylvania, November 12th, 1855, and died at her home south of Patterson, July 19th, 1927. While still a young child she came with her parents to Kansas, where she lived a year, then coming to Madison county, Iowa. Many of her later years have been spent in the care of an invalid parent and later an invalid sister.

On July 13, 1893, the deceased was united in marriage with Charles E. Johnson, who is left to mourn her death. One brother, John R. of Macksburg, also survives.

Funeral services were conducted from the home on Thursday by Rev. Frank E. Moore. Burial was made at Mt. Pelier.
