Daniel Reigle died on Sunday, Oct. 29th at the home of his son, D. F. Reigle of Jefferson township, at the advanced age of 86 years. Mr. Reigle moved to Iowa from Ohio in 1853, living in Madison county for many years. Thirty two years were spent in Kansas, where Mrs. Reigle died. The last fourteen years he lived with his son, until old age and creeping paralysis caused his death.
The burial services were held on Monday at Jefferson church, conducted by Rev. Hicks of Van Meter. Six grandsons acted as pall bearers. Seven children remain including Mrs. Al Hill and Mrs. Steve Parkins of Winterset, Mrs. Emma White of Marshalltown, Mrs. J. H. Farmer of Melvern, Kansas and John, Seth and D. F. of this county; also 32 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren survive, nearly all being present at the funeral services.
