Mrs. Clayton Boyle was born on September 3, 1882, in a farm home south of Dexter. Her maiden name was Laura Amalia Fett. By the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in her infancy, she became a member of the Zion Lutheran church at Dexter and by the rite of confirmation a communicant member.

On February 6, 1901, she was united in marriage with Orland Clayton Boyle, her surviving husband. Seven children were born to the marriage union, five of whom survive. They are Everett Boyle, Vivian, S.D.; Blanche, now Mrs. Henry Finck, Okaton, S.D.; Beulah, now Mrs. Less Price, Vivian, S.D.; Gladys, now Mrs. Kenneth Kelly, Pierre, S.D.; and Chester Boyle, Pierre, S.D.

In the year 1907 she moved with her family to Vivian, S.D., where she lived for 23 years.

She departed this life in the State Hospital at Clarinda on July 31, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 28 days.

Surviving relatives, in addition to her husband and children named above, include 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted in the Evan’s Funeral Home last Thursday, by Rev. A. C. Weber, pastor of Zion Lutheran church.

The casket bearers were Morris Boyle, Dale Boyle, Lester Boyle, Fred Fett, Carl Jensen and Lewis Hill. Music was furnished by Helen Clausen, Dorothy Black and Zelda Clausen. Her body was laid to rest in the Penn Center cemetery.

Those from out of town attending the service were : Mr. and Mrs. Everett Boyle, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Price, Vivian, South Dakota; Chester Boyle, Mrs. Gladys Kelley, Pierre, South Dakota; Eli Fett, Hollywood, California; Grace Boyle, Denver, Colorado; Mabel James, Stuart; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fett and Mrs. And Mrs. Oscar Fett, Adair.

They are: Everett Boyle, Vivian, South Dakota; Blanche, now Mrs. Henry Finch, Okaton, South Dakota; Beulah, now Mrs. Les Price of Vivian, South Dakota; Gladys, now Mrs. Kenneth Kelly, and Chester Boyle both of Pierre, South Dakota. Funeral services were held August 2nd at the Evans Funeral Home with Rev. A. C. Weber officiating. Duets were sung by Mrs. Paul Clausen of Dexter and Mrs. LaVerne Black of Earlham with Zelda Clausen at the piano. Casket bearers were: Morris, Dale and Lester Boyle, Carl Jensen, Lewis Hill and Fred Fett, Sr. Interment at the Penn Center cemetery.
