Mrs. George Yates, a pioneer settler of Madison county, died Saturday, January 30th, at her home in Union township. She was past eighty years of age, and had been quite ill during the last two weeks.

Mrs. Yates was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millie Moran of Edmonton, Kentucky, and was married in 1870. They came to this county in 1871, and have lived here since that time.

She is survived by her husband, and son, Henry; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; also two nieces, Mrs. Millie Traster of Winterset and Mrs. Fannie Villiard of Dakota; and a brother, Wesley Moran of Kentucky.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. J, Shenton at the Methodist church, Monday, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
