GARY L. WOLKEN, Earlham

Gary L. Wolken, 67 of 34345 Irving Court, Earlham, Iowa, passed away Friday January 7, 2011 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Gary was born September 1, 1943, the son of Nick J. and Hildann B. (Weihs) Wolken in Harlan, Iowa. Gary was married to Doris (Hall) Wolken on June 12, 1965. That marriage was blessed with two children: Trent and Tyler. Tyler passed away at birth.

Gary is survived by his wife Doris, son Trent and his wife Jill, two grandchildren, Taylor and Klayton, all of Earlham, his mother, Hildann Wolken, sisters: Linda Olson (Fred), Nancy Schmitz (Larry), Pat Schomers (Jerry) and Jill Blackford (John) and brothers: Dan (Vicki), Dave (Amy), and Chuck (Ann) and sister-in-laws, Evelyn Sager and Deloris Claussen, many nices and nephews, and many friends. His father, Nick, and son, Tyler preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held Wednesday night, January 12, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church 34128 L. Ave., rural Adel, Iowa from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday January 13, 2011 at the church and everyone is invited to join in a luncheon and fellowship immediately after the service. The body has been cremated and will be buried at a later date at the Walnut Cemetery, Walnut, Iowa, next his son Tyler.
