Pg 1Charles W. Wright, a resident of the Peru neighborhood, died last Friday morning at the age of 64 years. Mr. Wright was born and raised in Walnut township. A stroke of apoplexy caused his death. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Baker and Miss Lizzie Wright of Flint, Michigan, and four children, Ethel F. Ogburn of Longview, Washington, W. G. Wright of Dubuque, Mildred Dredge and Lawrence Wright of Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted at the Wright home Sunday afternoon by Rev. F. C. McCallon. More details of his life may be found in the mortuary column.

Pg 4Charles Wallace Wright was born April 16th, 1862, on a farm north of Old Peru in this county, and passed from this life on the morning of December 31st, 1926, aged 64 years 8 months and 15 days. A stroke of apoplexy was the cause of his death.
He was a son of Hiram C. and Nancy Wright, two of the pioneers of Madison county, and prominent citizens of Peru during their lifetime.
He grew up in the Peru neighborhood and in 1883 was married to Florence M. Munroe, from which union four children survive. The mother died in January of 1916, and until his marriage in 1919 to Laura Criss, his surviving widow, he stayed with a daughter in Des Moines.
The greater part of his life has been spent in this, his home county and he is known, and mourned by many old time friends and acquaintances.
He is survived by his widow, Laura, two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Baker and Miss Lizzie Wright of Flint, Michigan, four children, Ethel G. Ogburn of Longview, Washington, W. G. Wright of Dubuque, Iowa, Mildred W. Dredge and Lawrence W. Wright of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at the Wright home Sunday afternoon, January 2nd, by Rev. F. Clare McCallon.
Note: Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
