The fifteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Phillips, who live southeast of Winterset, died Saturday morning in Chicago. The little fellow put a grain of corn in his mouth last Thursday and it lodged in the trachea. He was taken to Des Moines immediately but no doctor there could operate, so he was rushed to Chicago. He was operated upon there but he died Saturday morning.

Funeral services were conducted at the Peru Methodist church Monday, November 1st, by Rev. Cunningham.
