Judge A. W. Wilkinson received a telegram this morning announcing the death of his aged mother, Clarissa Wilkinson, at Storm Lake. The Judge, who had not heard that his mother was seriously ill, was preparing to go on a fishing trip when he received the telegram. He telephoned to the depot and had the train wait until he could take it to start for Storm Lake to attend the funeral.
The Wilkinson family were among the early settlers of Scott township. Mrs. Wilkinson lived in this vicinity until five or six years ago, when she went to Storm Lake to make her home with her son Samuel. She was the mother of a large family, among whom are, besides those already mentioned, John, Daniel and Sid. Wilkinson and Mrs. Fleener, all of whom but the last live in this vicinity.
