Rufus B. McClintock was born in Madison county, Iowa, July 21st, 1866 and departed this life at the Paynesville hospital in Paynesville, Minn., May 15th, 1926, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 24 days.

He spent his boyhood days in Madison county and was married August 28th, 1891, to Hattie Otis of Osceola, Iowa. There were born from this union one son and one daughter, Riley and Addie May. Both preceded their father into the future life. There are left to mourn their loss a wife, three brothers and two sisters, Joseph of Eugene, Ore., Wesley, Walter, Mollie and Minnie of Murray, Iowa, also three grandchildren of New London, Minnesota, who are adopted children of the deceased. Besides there is a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Peru M. E. church Tuesday, May 18th, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. L. Thomas, the local pastor. The remains were laid to rest in the Peru cemetery.
