Local News

Mrs. J. C. Ellis, who for many years resided near Truro, died Monday at her home in Indianola. The body was brought to Truro, where funeral services were held and burial made at the old Ebeneezer cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Ellis were early settlers in Ohio township, and among that community’s most respected and honored citizens.

Since Mr. Ellis’ death some years ago, Mrs. Ellis has made her home in Indianola.

Mrs. Emma Ellis.

The funeral of Mrs. Emma Ellis who died at her home in Indianola, was held at Truro on Wednesday of the past week. Interment was made in Ebenezer cemetery.

The deceased was the mother of Mrs. E. E. Howe of Indianola, formerly well known citizen of Clarke county and a grandmother of Mrs. Floyd McComas, Raleigh E. Howe, Raymond Howe, Clarence Clifton, Willis Clifton and Mrs. Marie Clifton Miller of our county.

TRURO

Mrs. Ellis passed away at the home of her son in Indianola last Wednesday. Funeral services were conducted here at the M. E. church by Mr. Howe, Thursday forenoon after which the body was laid to rest in Ebenezer cemetery.
