St. Charles

Mrs. Sarah James of near Hanley, who has been ailing for a long time, died July 11th. She was about 61 years of age.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church July 13th at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. E. George of Humeston, a former pastor, after which her remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery, west of town by the side of her husband, who preceded her to the great unknown about 16 years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss, one son, Frank of Norwalk, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Wheeler of Hanley.

St. Charles

Mrs. Sarah James died last Friday at her home west of Hanley and was laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery last Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. James was born in South township in 1862, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lathrum, pioneer settlers of South township. She was married to Omer James who died several years ago. She leaves one son, P. F. James of Norwalk, and Mrs. Fred Wheeler.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church at St. Charles conducted by Rev. A. E. George, of Humeston, Iowa, a former pastor.
