NETTIE LOUISA McCULLOUGH

Nettie Louisa Ayers was born in Kewanee, Ill. July 7, 1862, and departed this life April 29, 1918 at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 22 days. Her early girlhood was spent in Kewanee. At the age of seven years she, with her parents, moved to Greenfield, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.

On Jan. 1, 1884, she was united in marriage to James H. McCullough of Greenfield. To this union there were born two children: Lee of Springville, Iowa, and Maude of Winterset, who with the husband, are left to mourn her loss. There also survive her four brothers and one sister: Walter Ayers of Rock Island, Ill.; Lena Swisher, also of that place; John Ayers of Greenfield, Iowa; Wilbur Ayers of Council Grove, Kans.; and Elmer Ayers of Burnstad, N.D.

At an early age, she united with the M. E. church of Greenfield. After her marriage she united with the United Presbyterian church of that place, since which time she has been a faithful member. For several years she has been a great sufferer, but through all her infirmities, her faith has remained steadfast and in her last hours, she expressed herself as being fully prepared to die.
