Death of Harry Cooper

Friends and relatives were shocked to hear of the death of Harry Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Cooper of this place, at his home in Price, Utah, at 12:30 p.m. Monday, at the age of 44 years. Mr. Cooper has been sickly for the past 16 years, with tuberculosis, but was able to carry on his newspaper work most of the time.

He and his wife had been at a camp in the mountains for two or three weeks, and Mr. Cooper seemed to be a little worse at this time. After they had returned to Price, he became critically ill, and died soon afterwards. Full particulars are not known at this time, Mrs. Cooper and the body left Price Tuesday night, and they will arrive here Friday morning.

Mr. Cooper was well known in this community, having been born in Beaver, Pa., coming here when a baby, with his parents. He was a graduate of the local high school and of Parsons college at Fairfield. He taught school for several years and was working in Chicago when his health failed 16 years ago. He went west and worked on newspapers in Denver, Greeley, and Sterling, Colo.; and then bought an interest in the paper at Price, Utah, where he and his wife owned the controlling interest at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, father and mother, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday at the parental Cooper home at 2:30 p.m. and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
