Harry A. Sheldon was born in Newtonville, New York, February 28, 1865, and died at his home in Monroe township, Madison county, Iowa, May 4, 1913, aged 47 years, 2 months and 6 days.

He moved with his parents to Laurell, Maryland, in 1867 and in 1876 to his present home in Madison county. At the age of 15 he was converted and united with the Protestant Methodist church and in 1886 united with the Evangelical association of which he has been an efficient and faithful member until the time of his death. In 1887 he was united in marriage to Lucy Bancroft and to this union were born seven children, two of whom have preceded him.

He leaves a wife, five children, two grandchildren, an aged father, two brothers, three sisters and other relatives, also a host of kind and sympathizing friends to mourn his departure. His life was a life of faith and trust in the Christ with whom he has gone to dwell. His end was peaceful. His body was tenderly laid to rest to await the morning of the resurrection. “Let me die the death of the righteous, let my last end be like his.”
