Martha Jane Reasoner, wife of the late Alexander Lorimor, was born in New Concord, Ohio, Feb. 9, 1837. She was married to A. W. Lorimor May 13, 1862, and the same year, moved and located south of Winterset, Iowa.

She united with the United Presbyterian church by letter. In 1880, she with her husband, moved to Des Moines, and their church membership was transferred in the First U. P. church of Des Moines.

Seven children and 11 grandchildren survive this devoted Christian mother, to realize her kind, patient loving and unselfish Christian life. The last two years she has spent visiting her daughter, Mrs. F. A. Brownell at Alamosa, Colo., where she was taken ill and after a sickness of some weeks, passed peacefully away to the blessed home with the Father, Oct. 17, 1911 at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 28 days.

During her sickness, she wrote letters to each of her children, in which she referred to her peace and hope, and urged them to meet her in Heaven.

Mrs. Lorimor, mother of Agnes Hollingsworth and Lee Lorimor of this place, died on the 17th at Alamosa, Colorado. The remains were brought to Winterset for burial. The deceased was well known in this vicinity, having lived here a great many years.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
