Shirley Jean Morrison, age 76, died at her home in Earlham on August 21, 2010.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with burial in South Oak Cemetery in Stuart, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday August 24, 2010 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Shirley Jean (Reimers) Morrison was born in Anita, Iowa, on October 12, 1933 to Elmer and Louise (Ragan) Reimers. After her children were grown, she worked for ten years as a store manager for the Salvation Army in Des Moines, retiring in 1993 due to health problems.
She is survived by daughters, Connie Stroeber of Earlham; Roberta (John) Stolk of Casey, IA; and Patricia Moorison and (Randy Ballard) of Earlham; and by five sons, Dale of DeSoto; Raymond Dean (Cindy) of Earlham; Richard (Linda) of Parsons, KS; Roger of Dexter, and Robert (Robin) of Earlham; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great- grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Cindy Sue; two brothers, Ronald and David Reimers; her much beloved grandmother, Anna Katherine (Wahe) Reimers; and grandfather, Herman David Reimers.

Shirley Jean Morrison, 76, of Earlham died Aug. 21, 2010.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with Pastor Steve Allison officiating. Burial was at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart.
Shirley Morrison was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Anita to Elmer and Louise (Ragan) Reimers. Her youngest years were spent on farms in the Anita and Wiota areas until the 1940s, when the family moved to the Menlo and Stuart areas. She attended school in Stuart from the fourth grade until her sophomore year in high school, at which time her family moved to Shenandoah. Shirley resided in Shenandoah until 1951, at which time, while on a visit to her parents (who had moved to the Earlham community), she met her future husband, Robert L. Morrison. They were married Nov. 10, 1951. After her children were grown, Shirley worked for 10 years as a store manager for the Salvation Army in Des Moines, retiring in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Cindy Sue; two brothers, Ronald and David Reimers; and her parents.
She is survived by three daughters — Connie Stroeber and Patricia Morrison, both of Earlham, and Roberta Stolk of Casey; five sons — Dale of DeSoto, Raymond Dean and Robert, both of Earlham, Richard of Parsons, Kan., and Roger of Dexter; and 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Page 2Shirley Jean (Reimers) Morrison was born in Anita, Iowa on October 12, 1933 to Elmer and Louise (Ragan) Reimers. Her youngest years were spent on farms in the Anita and Wiota areas until the 1940’s when the family moved to the Menlo and Stuart areas. She attended school in Stuart, Iowa from the fourth grade until her sophomore year in high school at which time her family moved to Shenandoah, Iowa. Shirley resided in Shenandoah until 1951 at which time while on a visit to her parents (who had moved to the Earlham Community), she met her future husband, Robert L. Morrison. They were married on November 10, 1951 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2001.
Shirley considered herself first and foremost a wife and the mother of nine children, who were the center of her life. After her children were grown, she worked for ten years as a store manager for the Salvation Army in Des Moines, retiring in 1993 due to health problems. Shirley was an avid reader and a huge history fan. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting, playing cards and time with her family.
She is survived by daughters: Connie Stroeber of Earlham, Roberta (John) Stolk of Casey, Patricia Morrison and Rand Ballard of Earlham; and by five sons: Dale of DeSoto, Raymond Dean (Cindy) of Earlham; Richard (Linda) of Parsons, Kansas, Roger of Dexter, and Rober (Robin) of Earlham and also 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham. Pastor Steve Allison officiated. Special music by Christy Lane was “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling,” “Just a Closer Walk With Thee,” “Just As I Am” and “Peace In The Falley”. Pallbearers were David Reimers, Jr, Chris Reimers, Terry Morrison, Raymond Coffman, Carroll Jenkins and Cloyd Morey. Honorary Pallbearers were Rick Dunmire, Dennis Dunmire, Douglas Reimers, Phillip Morrison, Howard (Buzz) Clayton Jr. and Jamey Morey. Interment was at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart.
