Mrs. Ann Lafferty passed away on Nov. 6th at her home on West Green street, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Lafferty was born Mar. 10, 1835, and was married to Smith Lafferty in Bellville, Ohio, in 1864. They moved to Des Moines in 1864, but with the exception of a few years, her married life was spent in Winterset. Mr. Lafferty died 14 years ago.
Mrs. Lafferty was a staunch member of the Methodist church, and a charter member of Pitzer W.R.C. and to her church and to the corps, her loyalty was unwavering.
Rev. W. G. Hohanshelt conducted the burial services on Saturday at her late residence at 2:30 p.m.

Ann McIntire Lafferty was born in Pennsylvania, March 10, 1835 and died in her home after a long time of suffering from cancer, November 7, 1914, aged 79 years, 7 months an 27 days.
When a child she moved to Bellville, Ohio. She married Smith Lafferty in 1864. They came to Des Moines and then to Winterset, Iowa where she has lived a beloved, useful, and respected Christian life. She is one of the old residents of about 50 years in Winterset.
She was converted and joined the M. E. church when about 15 years old.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hohanshelt, her pastor, from the home on Saturday at 2:30 and buried in the Rock City cemetery.
