Reese, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Garmon was born in Patterson, Madison county, Iowa, Feb. 23, 1892, and died at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Celia Miles in Patterson, July 15, 1911, aged 19 years, 4 months and 22 days. When nine years of age, his mother departed this life. He with his father moved about three years later to Cass county, Missouri, which was his home until the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn their loss, a father, one sister, grandparents Mrs. Celia Miles, of this place and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Garmon of Garden City, Missouri, an aunt, three uncles and a host of friends.

He was converted at the age of 15, and was received into the Methodist church by Rev. B. W. Britten at Pleasant Valley on the Austin circuit. He was an active member of the church and especially in the Sunday school and Epworth League.

About nine months ago, he was taken with bronchitis and during this entire time he has borne his suffering patiently, never murmuring at any time during his sickness. He reached his grandmother at this place just two days before his death full of anticipations for the future and desire on a speedy recovery. But regardless of this, the summons came suddenly and he answered “All is well” which were his last words and without pain he fell asleep in Jesus. The Epworth Leagues of Pleasant Valley and Garden City, each of which he had been an earnest worker, sent beautiful floral offerings and heartfelt sympathy to the father.
