Lloyd Dwaine Hutchins, 58, of Linden, Iowa, passed away August 11, 2010, at the Polk City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Johnson Family Funeral Home, in Stuart. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be held at a later date.

Dwaine, as he was known, by his family and friends, was born February 4, 1952, in Winterset, Iowa, to Lloyd Edwin and Joy Louise Hutchins. He grew up in Stuart, and graduated from Stuart High School, with the class of 1970. In 1971, Dwaine enlisted into the United States Navy, and during this time was stationed Philippines, Japan, Agana Guam, with the VQ1 Recon Squadron, and Beeville, Texas, before being honorably discharged in 1977. On May 28, 1972, Dwaine was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Herring, in Dexter, Iowa, at the Presbyterian Church, and to this union two children were born, Jason and Lisa. After being honorably discharged they lived in Beeville, Texas, until making their home in Linden, Iowa. In the early 1980's, Dwaine attended Beeville Community College, majoring in Computer Science and DMACC Community College majoring in Diesel Mechanic. Dwaine was employed at Pitman Enterprise, while in Texas, and after moving to Linden, he worked for John Deere, Iowa Machinist, Hyster Forklift, and Dallas County Highway Department, and was self-employed as a mechanic in Linden, where he had the opportunity to serve many local farmers. Dwaine, had his own band for many years, playing from early childhood. He played music in Perry, Adel, Stuart, Eagles Clubs, VFW Clubs, American Legion Clubs, and many other venues. He loved playing and listening to classic country, bluegrass and rockabilly 50's and 60's music. He also had the opportunity to play rhythm guitar, for the Southwest Texas Fiddlers Association. He played the rhythm guitar, bass, lead guitar, mandolin, banjo and piano. Dwaine was a member of the NRA, MARS, Dexter American Legion, and the Church of Christ. He was a self taught musician and enjoyed all of the individuals he had the privilege to play with over the years. He also enjoyed electronics, MARS-radio, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother Joy and his sister Tina, in 2010.

Dwaine leaves behind, his wife, Peggy Hutchins, of Linden; his children, Jason Dwaine Hutchins of Dallas, Texas and Lisa Ann Daggett of Linden; father Lloyd Hutchins of Linden; brothers, Ron Hutchins of Stuart and Steve Hutchins, of Adel; grandchildren, Hailey Marie Hutchins and Dylan Dwaine Hutchins both of Dallas, Texas, and a host of friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
