Dorothy Giovingo, 80, with her family at her side, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Dorothy was born October 8, 1929 in Winterset, Iowa. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. Dorothy had a strong relationship with God and her faith ran deep.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Sandy Wolver, Debi (Terry) Keele, Gina (Kirk) McMillen, Kelly Gould, and Marcy Giovingo; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of other family and beloved friends; and all her "grandkids" from daycare.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colomor and Mary Jane Storrs; husband, Sam Giovingo; son, Paul Giovingo; and sons-in-law, Dennis Wolver and Dan Smith.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 5051 NE 5th Street, with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Dorothy.
