Abner T. Smith, of Corning, Ia., formerly of Jefferson township, died at his home Oct. 21st, of blood poisoning, originating from a boil on his back. He was sick only three days. His brothers George and Sidney attended at Corning. He married Hannah Jane Madison, of Scott township. She is totally blind and is a cripple besides, having to walk on a crutch. She cannot live long. She has two or three married daughters.
