Local Tips

Jonathan Smith died at his home in Van Meter, Ia., Tuesday morning at 3 o’clock of heart trouble. Funeral services at his late home Wednesday. He lived nearly forty years in Jefferson township, and was an old soldier from Clayton county, Iowa. His wife is a daughter of Jackson Smith, deceased, long time resident of Jefferson township. The wife of the deceased survives him in very poor health, and a son and three daughters also survive.
