Mrs. W. F. Payton died Feb. 10th at her home in Pomana, Calif., after a long illness. She was the daughter of J. S. and Margaret De Motte. Her parents moved from Rushville, Ind., to Dallas county, Iowa, when she was six years old. She was married to W. F. Payton in 1878, soon after moving to Winterset, which remained their home until the location of the family in Pomana, in 1904. Her husband and two daughters survive her. One daughter, Mrs. Maude Roberts, lives in Monrovia, Calif., and Miss Inez is still in the parental home.
