Emmett J. Hibdon, 75, of Winterset passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010, at the Country Haven Guest Home in Winterset. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the Lorimor Community Center. The Cremation Society of Eastern - Central - Western Iowa is assisting the family.
Emmett Junior Hibdon was born Feb. 9, 1935, to Clarence and Grace (Keith) Hibdon in Stover, Mo. Emmett enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, and singing.
He is survived by his children — Timmy (Cynthia) Hibdon of Winterset, Nova (Dan) Davidson of Louisville, Ky., Brenda Pardekooper of Newton, and Emmett “Gene” (Cindy) Hibdon of Des Moines; a sister, Ruth (Floyd) Wagley; his former wife, Dora Hibdon; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gregory; a sister, Lucille; and a great-grandson, Sylas.
