Services for John A. Gamble of 7201 Oliver Smith Drive, Urbandale, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Charles parish in St. Charles. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Mr. Gamble, 55, died of cancer Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Born in Winterset, he moved to Urbandale in 1974 after having served in the military since graduating from high school. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service Bulk Mail Center and was a member of the American Postal Workers Union and Air Force Sergeants Association.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Terry Menegay of Bedford, Texas and Janice Dass of Ankeny; a son, John D. of Urbandale; nine sisters, Marge Seward of Thornton, Colo., Jeannie White of Truro, Dorothy Neal of Spring Hill, Patricia Reeves of Osage Beach, Mo., Shelia Langdon of West Des Moines, Cindy Gamble of Des Moines, Edythe Johnson, Helen Howard and Delores Gamble, all of St. Charles; eight brothers, Donald of Oklahoma City, Jim of Piedmont, Okla., Scott of Clive, Greg of San Diego, Wilbur and Rick, both of West Des Moines, and Robert and Raymond, both of St. Charles.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home.
