June L. Anderson, 81, of Parkridge Care Center, 4755 Parkridge Avenue, Pleasant Hill, died of Parkinson's disease there Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Hocking and had lived in the Des Moines area most of her life. She was a mail clerk for Meredith Publishing Co. before retiring in 1981 and enjoyed flower gardening and fishing.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo L. Jones of New Virginia and Mary Parker of West Des Moines; son Richard of Westminster, Md.; a sister, Lily Castings of LaVerne, Calif.; a brother, Joe Hupton of Des Moines, thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, William.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkridge Care Center.
