CLARENCE GORDON Dies at 83 Years

Clarence M. Gordon of Winterset, a life-long resident of Madison County, died Wednesday, June 5, 1974, at Memorial Hospital here. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Gordon was born in this county January 30, 1891, a son of Milton C. and Alma Penn Gordon. Through his active life he engaged in farming, retiring in 1967, at which time he moved into Winterset.

He was married here September 16, 1917 to Julia A. Ritter, who survives him. He also leaves three children, Gloria V. Slater of Des Moines, Francis M. Gordon of Leawood, Kansas, and Clarence J. Gordon of Everett, Washington; and nine grandchildren.

He was a member of the Foursquare church in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Winterset Foursquare Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles Updike. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
