The community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of little Glen Parkins which occurred last Friday night after a few days illness. About a week ago he stepped on a nail which resulted in lockjaw. The parents have the sympathy of the entire community.

Henry Glen Parkins, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Parkins, of Lincoln township, Madison county, Iowa, was born Oct. 15th, 1903 and departed this life Nov. 8th, 1907, aged four years and twenty-four days.
We can hardly realize that one so young and so lovely has been called to resign this life to explore the mysteries of the great unknown. While we are called upon to offer up in sacrifice to the great Creator, one of the choicest flowers yet we mourn not as those without hope. To those who look forward to a reunion in another world, the sunset of life offers brighter and lovelier visions than those we build in the mourning clouds. Blessed are the ministrations of sorrow,through them we are enabled to obtain a deeper insight into the mysteries of eternal life.
The funeral services were conducted at the Worthington M. E. church by Rev. W. E. Harvey, Sunday, Nov. 10th at one o'clock p.m., after which the little form was laid to rest in the silent city.
