Page 5J. W. Sankey died at his home in the south part of the city on last Saturday, May 31st. He had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Qua. Six pall bearers from Pitzer Post, G.A.R., officiated in the burial rites of their comrade.

Jas. W. Sankey was born in Center county, Pa., March 1st, 1832 and died at his home in this city, May 31st, 1907. He was married to Elizabeth Gulick in Sheffield, Ill., in 1866, to which union two children were born, Charlie and Robert.
He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two sons, eleven grandchildren and brother who lives at Wichita, Kans.
He served through the entire service of the civil war being a member of the 49th Penn.
He was converted in early childhood and united with the Methodist church and to the last he maintained an unbounded faith in his Savior and was ready and longed to go and rest with the blessed.
The funeral occurred Sunday conducted by Rev. ReQua.
