Obituary

Mrs. Jessie Sawyer was born Sept. 28, 1873, in Madison county, Ia., and was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Finney.

She was married to Samuel Sawyer March 9, 1898. To this union two children were born, a daughter and a son.

When 18 years of age she became a member of the Disciple or Christian church and was a faithful member in that faith until receiving the “angels message” as taught by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints some six years ago, to which she remained faithful until death.

She passed from this life at 9 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 1908, at the age of 34 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Husband and children, father and mother, brother and a host of other relatives and friends will indeed miss in this life a faithful and loving wife, a tender mother, a kind and true daughter and sister, a cheerful and sympathetic friend and neighbor.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the home in charge of Elder Wardell Christy, missionary for the Latter Day Saints church of Lamoni, Ia. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance, some coming from quite a distance.

May the kind Father above comfort the saddened hearts of these dear ones and may His companionship be theirs daily, so that when Christ shall come and the call to the faithful given, together with Jessie, may they spend that glorious and happy millennium.
