MALINDA SHIPLEY

Malinda Williams was born in Kentucky Dec. 23, 1818, and moved at an early age with her parents to Monroe county, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Ivan Davis in 1838. To this union was born two daughters and one son. Mr. Davis was killed in the Mexican war. She was afterward married to M. L. Duncan and to them were born two sons and one daughter. Mr. Duncan died in the gold fields of California. She was again united in marriage to W. P. Shipley in 1873.

She is survived by two children, a son, W. E. Duncan and one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Weeks of this county. She was a believer and a consistent follower of the Christian faith and became a member of the Methodist church at an early age. She died February 26th, 1907, after a lingering illness, aged 88 years, 2 months and 3 days.

The funeral was conducted by J. M. Newton, at the Fellowship church of Monroe township.

Note: Burial was at the Hamblin cemetery
