Hubert DeBok Jr., 59, of Winterset died Feb. 19, 2010, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 23, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was at Montpelier Cemetery in Madison County. Memorials given will be directed to the family for future designation.
Hubert DeBok was born July 14, 1950, in Winterset to Hubert and Denzel (Schermerhorn) DeBok and was a 1968 graduate of Winterset High School. A lifetime resident of Madison County, he had worked for Great Plains Bag Company in Des Moines, where Hubert belonged to Local 147.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by four sisters — Patricia Ann Gurney of Enka, N.C., Penny Cowman of Newton, and Vicki Morgan and Christy Myers, both of Indianola.

Hubert DeBok, Jr., 59, a former employee of Great Plains Bag Company in Des Moines, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, at McCalley- Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery at Patterson.
He had been a lifetime resident of Madison County and was a 1968 graduate of Winterset High School.
Hubert is survived by his sisters, Patricia Ann (Craig) Gurney of Enka, NC, Vicki (Jerry) Morgan of Indianola, Christy (Jim) Myers of Indianola, and Penny Cowman of Newton; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Denzel (Schermerhorn) DeBok.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family for a future designation.
