St. Charles

The three months old child of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shigley died last Sunday and was buried Monday afternoon at the St. Charles cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mercer at the M.E. church at St. Charles.

Gerald Frederick Shigley was born March 21, 1908 and died June 28, 1908, being three months and seven days old. Although never a stout, rugged child yet the loving parents had hopes he would as he grew older, develop a stronger constitution and yet be spared them, but all in vain for in spite of all loving hands and medical aid could do he left them to be with him who said, “Suffer The Little Children to Come unto me and Forbid them not.”

His final illness was of only a few hours duration and yet while we mourn him as lost to us we know he is at rest.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Mercer at the M.E. church and interment made in the St. Charles cemetery.
