Peru -

We are again called on to mourn the death of a mother, Mrs. Clyde Barker, who after only four days of severe suffering was conquered by the enemy, death, on Nov. 28th.

She leaves a husband, and four little children, a lonely home and many sad hearts.

The funeral was held at the Christian church on the 29th, conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett, with interment in the Peru cemetery.

Obituary – Mrs. Clyde Barker

Bernice Minnie Burdick was born in Lincoln County, Kansas, Sept. 11, 1881 and departed this life at Peru, Iowa, Nov. 28, 1911, age 30 years 2 months and 17 days.

She was united in marriage to Clyde H. Barker, on December 14, 1898. There came into their home, three sons, Paul, Lysle and Donald; one girl, Doris.

She was converted and untied with the Christian church at Peru, during the winter of 1901 and remained a member till her summons came. She left a testimony behind her that all was well. She leaves sad hearted because of her departure, her mother, two sisters, one brother, the husband, four children and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held from the Christian church at Peru, conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of Des Moines, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Peru Cemetery.
