Riley Rouse Services Held

Funeral services were held in Brunswick, Nebraska on Friday, December 27, for Riley R. Rouse, 79. Mr. Rouse was a former resident of Peru.

Riley Rexroad Rouse was born near Alda, Neb. On December 23, 1895, the son of George L. and Susanna Rouse. He was married to Margaret Howell on September 20, 1917.

Mr. Rouse was a farmer until his appointment as a rural mail carrier at Alda, Neb. in 1925. He and his wife moved to Heartwell, Neb. for four years; lived at Peru, Iowa for six years; and then moved to Brunswick, Neb. In 1948. He retired in 1961.

Mr. Rouse was a member of the Brunswick Congregational Church. He was a member of the national and local rural letter carriers associations, the Masonic and Eastern Star Lodges, and was a Knights Templar and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sons, Rex Rouse of Winterset and William Rouse of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral rites were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Brunswick, Neb., with the Fred C. Gardner officiating. Burial with Masonic rites was in the Grand Island Municipal Cemetery at Grand Island, Neb.
