THOMAS LOVE,

The funeral of Thomas S. Love was held from the Methodist church on Sunday forenoon, burial at Winterset cemetery.

The deceased was born in Bellmont Co., Ohio, July 13, 1822, where he spent his early days. He died at Patterson, Jan 3rd, 1907, at the age of 84 years, 5 months & 20 days. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Leckliter in 1863 and in the same year they moved to Mercer Co., Ill, where they resided 4 years, moving to Madison Co., Ia, in 1867. To them were born 5 children, 3 of whom are living, a son & 2 daughters. On Nov. 10, 1902, his companion was called home since which time he has resided with his son George of this place.

The funeral of Thomas S. Love, an old resident and respected citizen of this part of the county was held from the Methodist church on Sunday forenoon. The funeral sermon was by the deceased’s pastor, Rev. Mercer, after which the Masonic Order of Winterset, took charge and consigned the remains to their last resting place in the Winterset cemetery.

The deceased was born in Bellmont county, Ohio, July 13, 1822, where he spent his early days. He died at Patterson, Iowa, January 3d, 1907, at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 20 days. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Leckliter in 1863 and in the same year they moved to Mercer county, Illinois, where they resided four years, moving to Madison county, Iowa in 1867. To them were born five children, three of whom are living, a son and two daughters.

On November 10, 1902, his companion through many years was called home since which time he has resided with his son, George, of this place. He was a man who enjoyed the respect and confidence of his friends and associates. Though for many years a sufferer from the infirmities of old age he was cheerful, patient and resigned and his kindly words and countenance will be missed by many.
