Mary G. Barker, 92, of Colonial Manor Care Center, Amana, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Springville, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in the care center after a long illness.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after noon Saturday at the chapel.

Survivors include two sons, Bill and wife Alice of Cedar Rapids and Jack and wife Doris of Marion; three sisters, Dolly Felton of Brooklyn, Zola Murphy of Claremore, Okla., and Mildred Hawkins of Ainsworth; four grandchildren, Kathy Cramblet, Cheryl Klopfenstein and husband Mark, Molly Barker and Jeff Barker and wife Angela; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey and Jessica Cramblet, Jaclyn, Jake and Kayla Klopfenstein and Jack and Danny Barker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde and Phil; and three sisters, Florence, Reva and Edwina.

Mary was born Nov. 27, 1907, in Truro, the daughter of Henry and Lois Simpson Miller. She married Rolla A. Barker on Dec. 12, 1927, in Des Moines. He died in 1988. The couple farmed near Springville until 1960. Mary was head of the hosiery department at Killian's for 20 years. She was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church and Eagles Club of Cedar Rapids.

Mary loved her family and friends with gusto. Her bright smile and friendly words, easy laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springville Presbyterian Church.
