Mrs. Mary Mendenhall passed away at the home of her son Elwood, on Wednesday Aug. 19th. Funeral services were held in the Friends church Saturday morning after which the remains were laid to rest in the Earlham cemetery.

Thursday, August 24, 1905Mary Mendenhall passed away at the home of her son Elwood on Wednesday evening Aug. 16, 1905. Funeral services were held in Friends meeting house Saturday morning, after which the remains were laid to rest in Earlham cemetery.
Mary Connor was born in Warren county, Ohio, July 24, 1832. She was united in marriage to Joseph Mendenhall Sept. 11, 1862, in Marion county, Indiana. Seven children were born to them, five of whom survive her; also three stepchildren. Her companion passed away April 3, 1901. At the time of her death she was 73 years and 23 days old.
She was a strong and devoted member of the Friends church having gained a birthright and being a constant member to the last.
Three of her children were by her when death came, but her son Will from Curtis, Okla., arrived to late to see his mother alive. By her demise a fond and loving mother and grandmother passed from this earth to her reward in heaven.
