Pg 6Death of Crossly Morris
Word was received here a few days ago announcing the death of Crossly Morris, a former resident of this place. Mr. Morris died in Texas and the funeral was held in San Antonio, his late home, on Tuesday of this week. At the time Mr. Morris left Winterset, some two years ago, he was suffering from ill health contracted while serving in the Spanish-American war, and while we have no particulars of his last sickness, it is supposed his death was caused by this army trouble.
He was a most exemplary young man and held in the highest esteem by all who knew him, and his untimely death is mourned by his large circle of friends.
