Bertha McKinney, the fourteen-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. N. McKinney, passed from this earth on Tuesday, the 22d, after a short illness. Funeral services were held from the M. E. Church on Thursday forenoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. _____, who was assisted by Rev. Smith of Winterset. Her untimely death leaves a vacant place at the home an in the circle of young people with whom she acquired and who mingle their tears of sorrow with those more intimately bound by ties of home.

Note: Burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery.
