Friday, July 17, 2009Paul F. Abrahams, 75, of West Point, formerly of Keokuk, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at his home. Born Nov. 22, 1933, in Winterset, he was the son of Clyde C. and Gladys O'Neal Abrahams. On June 20, 1954, he married Beverly Clippert in Keokuk.
Mr. Abrahams worked 36 years at Union Electric in Fort Madison and Kirksville, Mo., retiring in 1993. He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1952. He served in the Army. He was a member of Green Acres Golf Course in Donnellson. He enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kyle Abrahams of Higbee, Mo.; one daughter, Melanie Schierbrock of West Point; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, one sister and one infant brother.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, where family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
The private family graveside service for Mr. Abrahams will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk.
A memorial has been established for Lee County Hospice.
