The death of Dr. Butler Cooper occurred at his home in Ankeny last Thursday afternoon after a protracted illness of several months from tuberculosis. Dr. Cooper was the son of Dr. John Cooper, for many years a resident of this place. After he graduated in medicine he began practicing in Des Moines, then came here for a season after which he removed to Arapahoe, Neb., where he remained for several years. He finally located at Ankeny this state where he resided at the time of his death. Less than a year ago he married Miss Bertha Wainwright, of this city, who with an eight year old boy by his first wife survive him.
Dr. Cooper was a bright young physician of excellent standing and a man of high character and marked ability in his profession and a brilliant career was cut short by his untimely death.
His many friends here who knew him in his boyhood days as well as his acquaintances elsewhere deplore his sad taking off and extend to the bereaved family their deepest sympathy.
