Fatal Accident: Delbert Reed, son of Emily Reed of Madison county, was killed on Friday a week ago near Carson, Iowa, by being thrown from a plow. He was working for the famous ranchman, Jack Evans. He hitched four horses abreast to a gang plow to go to a field. The horses became frightened and ran away throwing Reed in front of the sharpened plow share. The plow ran over him cutting one leg off above the ankle. A physician was summoned, but owing to some delay young Reed practically bled to death, dying at three o’clock the next morning.

The body was brought to Truro, and the funeral services took place at the Fremont church Tuesday at eleven o’clock. He leaves a mother and several brothers and sisters.
