Catherine Morris, 93, of Winterset died Nov. 9, 2009, at Winterset Care Center North.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with Father Chris Hartshorn officiating. Visitation will be from 2–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset where the family will be present from 5–7 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Middle River Hospice. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Irish Settlement Cemetery in Madison County.

Catherine Morris was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Des Moines to John and Ella (Glynn) Monaghan. Her marriage to Frank Leroy Morris took place April 27, 1936, in Winterset. Catherine lived in Madison County for most of her life, having resided in Des Moines for several years. She had been a homemaker and, in the latter years of her life, a cook for Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She also was a former member of Christ the King Church in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Patricia Green; two brothers, William Monaghan and John Monaghan; four sisters, Mabel Carpenter, Rose Walker, Agnes Moore and infant Mary Monaghan; and a grandson, Curtis Morris.

She is survived by two daughters, Della Overton of Arlington, Texas, and Dixie Waddell of Des Moines; one son, Frank Morris of Winterset; and 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren, and six great-great-great-grandchildren
