The inhabitants in the vicinity of Early Chapel have recently lost a most valuable citizen in the person of Emanuel P. Henry. No man was known, and truly none more highly esteemed for moral worth.

Mr. Henry came into this county early in the year 1860 from Ohio, and devoted his attention to farming of which he made a success. In his dealings with his neighbors he was noted for uprightness of principal—his word was his bond. He would sooner suffer wrong than to enter into wrangles or litigations. In disposition he was genial, always had a good word for all. His home was his paradise, receiving his best attentions. Forty-three years of such a life cannot fail to make lasting impressions for good on the community.

His illness was brief, lasting only a few weeks, dying February 18th, aged 63 years, 10 months and 4 days. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn their loss. The interment took place in Worthington cemetery and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives.

The funeral service was conducted by Pastor H. Ford of the Christian church, on last Friday morning.
