Obituary

Anna Harlan was born in Drake Co., Ohio on February 7, 1833 and died February 1, 1903. She was married to N. W. Garretson Thursday March 21, 1850 and moved to Iowa in 1851 and to Winterset in 1853.

She was the mother of ten children, nine of which survive her, seven boys and two girls.

She became a Christian and united with the Christian church when a child. She united with the Baptist church when the church was first organized and was one of the charter members. She lived a good consistent Christian life to the end.

Mrs. Garretson was an old resident of Madison county and loved by all who knew her. The relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

Obituary

Anna Harlan was born in Darke county, Ohio, February 7, 1833 and died at her home in Winterset, February 1, 1903. She was married to N. W. Garretson, March 24, 1850, and moved to Winterset in 1852. She was the mother of ten children, seven sons and three daughters, of these nine are still living. She leaves nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She embraced the Christian faith when a child and identified herself with the Christian church. Later she became a member of the Baptist church, of which she remained a member till her death.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
